Hardy Access Services were asked to provide a vertical shoring scaffolding to the underside of a high-level arch in the chancel of a large Church in St Helens. The arch was showing signs of movement and was potentially carrying 15 ton of masonry above it. The scaffold had to be designed with a footprint large enough to stand freely, whilst avoiding fixed items within the chancel area, and ensure vertical supports were positioned to provide the maximum support to the formwork and arch. The scaffold also had to provide a high level working platform to enable continual monitoring of the arch and surrounding masonry.
