Hardy access services were asked to provide a façade retention scaffold to the road side elevation of the building, with a secure unclimbable hoarding to prevent unauthorised access to the unsafe building. Management liaised with local authority representatives to co-ordinate and complete the necessary permits for erecting scaffold and hoardings on council owned pavements. Due to the restricted width of the pavement, and the inability to physically tie the scaffold to the façade, the scaffold had to be designed with additional ties, shear ties and braces being installed at ground level of the façade.
